Mass Torts Informer helps visitors understand federal multidistrict litigation and connect with JAG Legal Group about potential claims.

What is an MDL?

The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation can transfer federal civil actions sharing common factual questions to one district for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings. Centralization does not by itself make every case a class action, establish liability, or award compensation. Individual cases retain their own facts and legal requirements.

What our directory covers

The first edition includes all 162 pending MDLs in the JPML report dated October 1, 2026, with 204,977 pending actions. The directory covers antitrust, privacy, and other MDLs as well as personal-injury mass torts. Pending and historical action counts are different measures. Closed MDLs and matters not yet centralized are outside this edition.

All records include official docket metadata and a route to request a review. Seven selected litigations also have a court-source brief. Records marked “Registry record” have not received a case-specific substantive docket review. They do not claim to establish the latest litigation stage, settlement status, or intake eligibility.

How we source and date information

Registry data comes from the JPML’s pending-action report and docket summary. The JPML states that pending-MDL reports are uploaded on the first business day of each month. Official district court pages, court orders, and settlement administrator notices support selected briefs and dates. Categories are editorial labels, rather than official JPML docket-type classifications.

The initial import and selected source checks were completed October 27, 2026. This edition is a dated snapshot. Continuous docket monitoring and automated publication are not yet enabled. A public court page may omit filings available through the official PACER docket. Always check the source and consult counsel before acting on a date.

How to use intake information

Checklists identify documents and facts that may assist an attorney. They are not JAG acceptance criteria, a medical diagnosis, or a determination of legal eligibility. Representation depends on the facts, applicable law, available counsel, and conflicts checks. A settlement’s existence does not establish that new claims may enroll.
